Summer Training Academy

The Pro Hoops Summer Training Academy is a dynamic 5-week player development program consisting of basketball training, games and performance training.  

For basketball players the off-season is the time to make gains and that means expanding their skill set, knowledge of the game and increasing their physical capacity. 

Summer Training Academy offers players over 45 hours of in person, basketball and performance training as well as live games to help players maximize their summer and level up. 

Academy Structure 

The format is Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday from 1:00 to 4:00p. Players will start with basketball performance training from 1:00-2:00 followed by basketball skill work from 2:00-4:00p. 

Thursdays are game days where we break the players up into teams and play live games. 

Players should arrive no later than 12:45a each day to the Masaryk Community Gym in Lower Manhattan (69 Columbia St, New York, NY 10002). 

Schedule

Due to majority AAU tournaments and summer leagues schedules falling on weekends, we created our schedule with those game schedules in mind.

  • Tuesday the focus is compound movements and finishing paired with short sided games

  • Wednesday we cover foundational team concepts with a mix of skill work

  • Thursday we start with a skill session and play live games.

Basketball 

The Summer Training Academy gives players the opportunity to develop new skills, further improve on others and then put those skills to the test in a semi live and live environment. 

In addition to intensive skill work sessions the Summer Training Academy with feature stations, offensive and defensive breakdowns, special guest speakers and performance training. 

Live competition is a daily part of the program. In addition to 3-vs-3 and short sided games we play live games with on Thursdays. 

The director is Luke Bolster (Columbia ‘22).

Performance

We’ve partnered with Brian Harrington from Harrington Performance to handle our performance component. Brian brings over 15 years of experience with hundreds of athletes from professional to grassroots.

His performance program focuses on increasing athletic ability, injury prevention and building an overall better athlete.
