Fresh off a stellar 4-year career at the University of Virginia, China is the first Pro Hoops alumni to become a trainer for the company. The former UVA team Captain brings a vast amount of energy and experience as one of the top point guards to come out of New York City
The Bronx native graduated in 2013 from Virginia with a degree in Anthropology. Despite fighting through two knee injuries in her four years at UVA, she was the only player to start every game for the Cavaliers in 2012-2013. Upon graduation, she traveled to China as a member of the USA All-Star team competing against teams from China, Hungary and Australia
During her senior year at Virginia, China was selected to participate in the WBCA’s “So You Want to be a Coach" program. She was one of 50 athletes selected to attend this convention, designed to teach educational and professional principles to potential coaches
Playing for Manhattan Center in High School, China was chosen to compete in the prestigious McDonald’s All-American game, featuring the top 20 high school players in the country. Recognized as the highest honor for a high school player, she won the skills competition. China earned four straight all-city honors, and was voted Class AA player of the year by the New York State Sportswriters Association. ESPNRise.com ranked her as a first team All-American, and ESPNU had her as the #14 player overall, the #2 ranked point guard
