As he enters his fourth year with Pro Hoops, Nate Brown has developed into one of the top skills trainers in the industry.
Brown has vast experience training some of the top players in the NBA such as Tobias Harris (Magic), JJ Redick (Clippers) and Miles Plumlee (Bucks). He played a vital role in preparing players for the 2015 NBA Draft. Furthermore he's trained countless top collegiate and international professional players.
His international experience as a player has proven helpful in his work as a trainer. In 2009 he traveled to China to run Nike clinics for boys and girls. He worked at the World Basketball Festival in 2010 held in NYC. In the summer of 2014 he worked closely with the ASB program on their visit to New York City from Moscow, Russia.
As a player Brown played in Iceland 2003-2006 for Thor Thorl, Snaefell and I.R. Reykjavik. He then moved to France in 2007-2008 to play for Aix Maurienne Sovie Basket. He also traveled in the summer of 2003 and 2005 to compete in China against some of the top teams in the CBA (Chinese Basketball Association). Finally he played for the Austin Toros in the NBA Developmental League in 2008-2009. He led the Toros to a 9-4 record and let the team in assists before suffering a season ending ankle injury. After rehabbing an ankle injury he finished with the Springfield Armor.
Brown was a two year captain and starter at St. Peters College (2000-2002). There he ranked 4th in the MAAC in Assists and 2nd in the league in steals.
Before that he attended Monroe Community College for 2 years (1999-2001). There Brown led the Mustangs to a Division I Regional Championship while being named to the All Tournament team. He was named 2nd Team All Region.
As a High School player, Brown played for four seasons at John F. Kennedy High School (1995-1999). As a senior he was selected 1st team All Borough for the Bronx.
Brown's reputation as is a affectionately known as "Naughty by Nature" in the Nike Pro City summer league which features some top NBA and International players each year.
Brown received his degree in Business Management from St. Peter's University in 2002. He is a native of the Bronx, NY.
